Magoki Attori

Image
During my recent trip to Bukhara, I visited one of the oldest and most interesting places in the city – the Magoki Attori Mosque. It was a peaceful and beautiful experience that I want to share. Magoki Attori is not like other mosques. It is located a bit lower than the street level, so you have to walk down a few steps to enter it. This shows how old it is – the ground around it has risen over time. When I entered, I felt calm and quiet. The thick brick walls and soft light inside made the place feel special. Long ago, this area was part of a busy market, where people sold perfumes and herbs. That’s why it is called "Attori" – which comes from the word for a perfume seller. The mosque itself is small but full of history. Its walls have beautiful patterns made from bricks, and every part of it shows the skill of old builders. I didn’t see many people there, which made the visit more peaceful. I took some time to sit quietly, look around, and think about how many people have ...

Boboyi Poradoz

Image
It is considered one of the holiest places around Bukhara, and many people visit it with prayers and hopes in their hearts. The structure, built with traditional bricks and adorned with subtle yet meaningful Islamic design elements, stood gracefully under the bright sky. As we walked around, we could feel the reverence and devotion embedded in every corner of the site. What touched me most was the silence — not emptiness, but a peaceful silence filled with respect and history. I took a moment to sit and observe, letting the atmosphere sink into me. It was a reminder of how powerful simple places can be when they are filled with meaning and memory. Visiting Boboyi Poradoz was not just an excursion; it was a spiritual and educational experience that helped me understand the deep roots of our culture and beliefs. I feel grateful to have had the chance to witness such a place, and I hope to carry this inspiration with me throughout my journey as a teacher.

Chor Minor

Image
Today we went to Chorminor in Bukhara. It was a very beautiful and interesting place. I was so happy to see it with my own eyes. I have seen pictures of Chorminor before, but in real life, it looks even more amazing. The weather was nice — sunny and warm, perfect for walking and taking photos. When we arrived, I saw the four towers of Chorminor. They are tall and blue on the top. Each tower is a little bit different. I think that makes the building very special. The walls are decorated with nice patterns and colors. It is not a big building, but it is full of charm and history. Many people were there too — some were tourists, some were local visitors. Everyone was taking photos. I also took many pictures with my phone. I wanted to remember this moment. We walked around the area, looked at the towers closely, and read about the history of Chorminor. I learned that "Chorminor" means "Four Minarets" in Persian. It was built a long time ago in the 1800s. It was part o...

A Peaceful Visit to Chor-Bakr in Bukhara May 12, 2025

Image
Today, I visited the Chor-Bakr complex in Bukhara. It was a quiet and beautiful place, perfect for learning and thinking. Chor-Bakr is located a few kilometers outside the city, and it is known as the “City of the Dead.” But don’t worry — it’s not scary at all. In fact, it is calm and full of history. The complex was built in the 16th century, during the time of the Shaybanid rulers. It is a place where the family of Abu Bakr, a close friend of the Prophet Muhammad, was buried. The name "Chor-Bakr" means “Four Bakrs,” showing respect for this family. As I walked through the area, I saw old trees, beautiful buildings with domes, and lovely designs made of bricks and tiles. The buildings are simple but very pretty. The wooden columns and decorations show the traditional style of Uzbekistan’s architecture. What I liked most was the peaceful feeling. It was quiet and relaxing, far from the busy city. Some people come here to pray, others just sit and think. It’s a great place ...

Trip to turki Jandi monument

Image
Today was one of the most meaningful and spiritually rich days of my life. As part of our educational and cultural learning journey, we visited the ancient Turki Jandiy Mausoleum in Bukhara. The moment we arrived, I could sense that this place was not just a monument, but a sanctuary filled with history, wisdom, and silent stories carved into every brick. Our day began early in the morning. The weather was calm, with a light breeze gently moving through the ancient streets of Bukhara. The sky was clear, as if welcoming us to witness something special. As we walked through Namozgoh ko‘chasi, we reached the site where the Turki Jandiy maqbarasi stands, slightly hidden away from the main tourist paths. The structure immediately drew my attention with its modest, yet soulful presence. Listening to the stories of his life and contributions to religious and philosophical thought made me realize how little we know about the spiritual giants of the past. It was humbling. As part of our E...

Said Po bandikusho

Image
Today marked the fourth day of my teaching practice, and it was truly a special and memorable experience. Unlike the previous days, where we mostly stayed in classrooms or worked with students, today we had the unique opportunity to explore a culturally and historically rich place in Bukhara known as Said Po Bandikusho. This trip was not only educational but also deeply inspiring, as it allowed me to connect more closely with the heritage of our region. Early in the morning, our group gathered and prepared for the visit. The weather was warm and sunny, with a slight breeze that made the day feel refreshing. As we arrived at Said Po Bandikusho, I was immediately struck by the peaceful atmosphere and the beauty of the surrounding architecture. The place holds a significant place in the hearts of many locals, and I could feel the sense of pride and respect that people have for it.  I learned that it is not only a spiritual place but also a symbol of knowledge, tradition, ...

Xoʻja Zayniddin

Image
Today we visited the Khoja Zayniddin monument in Bukhara as part of our teaching practice. It was a really interesting experience. The weather was warm, and we walked together with our group. When we arrived, I was surprised by how beautiful and peaceful the place was. The monument looked very old but still strong and full of history. The inside of the building was calm and had a special feeling. Some people were praying, and others were quietly walking around. It made me feel respectful and thoughtful. We also took some photos and talked with each other about what we saw. It was a good chance to learn more about our own history and traditions. I felt proud of our culture. I think it is very useful to see real historical places, not just read about them in books. After the visit, we sat outside and discussed our ideas. I enjoyed the trip very much. It helped me understand more about Bukhara and our past. I hope we can visit more such places during our practice. It makes learning mo...

Modarikhon

Image
Today during our practicum at Modarixon Madrasa, we had a very interesting discussion with our teacher and coursemates. We didn’t only talk about lessons or students—we spoke about the history of the madrasa itself. Our teacher asked us what we knew about Modarixon Madrasa. Some of us shared a few facts, and we all tried to remember what we had read or heard before. It was exciting to talk about such an old and meaningful place. We learned that this madrasa is one of the historical monuments of Bukhara and that it has served as a center of knowledge and education for many years. Even today, it continues to inspire young people and future teachers like us.   I think Modarixon Madrasa is not just a school building—it is a symbol of history, knowledge, and tradition. I love the peaceful atmosphere and the way the old walls seem to “speak” about the past. It is a place that connects history with the present. I feel proud and thankful to spend even a small part of my journey here...

A Timeless Journey to the Heart of Bukhara

Image
Today, I had the privilege of stepping into a space where the past and present blend seamlessly—the Eternal Bukhara Complex (Boqiy Buxoro majmuasi). Nestled in the ancient city of Bukhara, this modern cultural complex stands as a graceful tribute to the city’s rich spiritual, educational, and historical heritage. Unlike the centuries-old madrasas and mosques of Bukhara, the Eternal Bukhara Complex is relatively new, yet it captures the timeless spirit of the city with remarkable elegance. As we approached the complex, we were welcomed by serene architecture and wide-open spaces that offered a peaceful pause from the bustle of everyday life. The central building, shaped with traditional Uzbek design elements—arched windows, carved wooden doors, and soft-toned brick—felt like a bridge between generations. It was more than just a museum or exhibition hall. It felt like a space for reflection—a quiet celebration of the values that shaped our culture. Inside, we explored exhibit...

Piri dastgir mosque

Image
This year, I had the opportunity to do my internship at Pridastgir Mosque in the ancient city of Bukhara. It wasn’t just an academic requirement for me—it became a truly meaningful and unforgettable experience. As soon as I stepped into the mosque, I felt a deep sense of calm. The architecture, the quiet atmosphere, and the spiritual vibe made it clear that this was more than just a place of worship—it was a part of history. Every corner seemed to whisper stories from the past. Bukhara itself is rich in culture and tradition, but being at Pridastgir Mosque allowed me to see how those traditions are still alive today.During my internship, I was involved in many activities. I helped with organizing lessons for children and adults, took part in religious classes, and got a closer look at how a mosque works behind the scenes. I learned how prayer times are scheduled, how cleanliness is maintained, and how the mosque staff work together to serve the community. One of the most val...
