Magoki Attori

During my recent trip to Bukhara, I visited one of the oldest and most interesting places in the city – the Magoki Attori Mosque. It was a peaceful and beautiful experience that I want to share. Magoki Attori is not like other mosques. It is located a bit lower than the street level, so you have to walk down a few steps to enter it. This shows how old it is – the ground around it has risen over time. When I entered, I felt calm and quiet. The thick brick walls and soft light inside made the place feel special.

Long ago, this area was part of a busy market, where people sold perfumes and herbs. That’s why it is called "Attori" – which comes from the word for a perfume seller. The mosque itself is small but full of history. Its walls have beautiful patterns made from bricks, and every part of it shows the skill of old builders. I didn’t see many people there, which made the visit more peaceful. I took some time to sit quietly, look around, and think about how many people have prayed here over the centuries. Even though it’s an old building, it still feels alive.

Visiting Magoki Attori was a simple but special moment in my trip. If you ever go to Bukhara, don’t miss this hidden treasure. It’s not just a mosque – it’s a doorway into Bukhara’s deep and beautiful history.
